Mianus River State Park is a wonderful natural area located in Stamford and Greenwich, Connecticut. It's a great place to enjoy the outdoors and explore nature. This park was officially created in 2001 to protect its important natural features and provide a space for everyone to enjoy.
Part of the park used to be a large private estate called Treetops. This estate belonged to a famous actress named Libby Holman. In 2001, local people worked hard to save this land from being built on. Because of their efforts, 94 acres of beautiful land were protected as part of the state park. An additional 11 acres around the old Treetops mansion are also protected. This means the land cannot be developed, keeping it natural for future generations.
