Michael Rummenigge (born on February 3, 1964) is a famous German former football player. He used to play as a forward, which means he was often at the front of the team, trying to score goals.

Michael Rummenigge's Football Career
Michael Rummenigge was born in Lippstadt, a town in Germany. When he started playing for Bayern Munich, it was a bit tough for him. People often compared him to his older brother, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. His brother was already a huge star and captain of Bayern Munich and the German national team.
Early Days at Bayern Munich
Michael joined Bayern Munich in 1981 when he was 17 years old. He came from a team called Borussia Lippstadt. By 1982, he became a professional player. In his second season, 1983, he became a regular starter for the team. He played for Bayern Munich until 1988. During his time there, his team won the German championship three times. They also won the DFB-Pokal (a big German cup competition) twice, in 1984 and 1986.
Playing for Germany
Michael Rummenigge also played for the German national team twice. He represented his country in 1983 and again in 1986.
Moving to Borussia Dortmund
In 1988, Michael changed teams and joined Borussia Dortmund. At first, some fans weren't sure about him. But by the end of his first season, he helped Dortmund win the DFB-Pokal! This was a huge win for Borussia Dortmund, as it was their first major title since the 1960s. They beat Werder Bremen 4–1 in the final match in Berlin.
In the 1991–92 season, a new coach named Ottmar Hitzfeld arrived. He made Michael the captain of the team. That same year, Borussia Dortmund finished second in the German championship. In 1993, Michael played in the UEFA Cup final for Borussia Dortmund against Juventus. Dortmund lost the game, but Michael scored their only goal.
End of His Playing Career
Michael Rummenigge finished his time with Borussia Dortmund in 1993. He had played 309 games in the Bundesliga (Germany's top football league) and scored 80 goals. After that, he moved to Japan, where a new professional football league had just started. He played for a team called Urawa Red Diamonds until 1995. Sadly, in early 1996, he had to stop playing football because of a serious toe injury.
Life After Football
After his football career, Michael Rummenigge didn't just sit back. He had trained as a banker and used those skills.
Business Ventures
Today, Michael runs a successful sports marketing company in Dortmund called Sports & Business. He also has football camps for kids called "Fußballschule Michael Rummenigge." He is also a partner in another company called Sportnex GmbH in Munich.
He is also involved with "Germany's best indoor soccer courts" in Münster. Plus, he started a new business called "Trendsport Rummenigge." This company sells mobile soccer courts, cages, and playing fields.
Helping Others
Michael Rummenigge is also very committed to helping people. ..... He also helps the Childrensmile e. V. association, which supports children who are very sick or facing difficulties.
In June 2007, he successfully passed his exam to become a professional football coach. He earned his UEFA Pro licence, which is a high-level coaching qualification.

Michael Rummenigge is married to Carolin. They have three sons together.
