Michal Grošek (born June 1, 1975) is a former professional ice hockey player from the Czech Republic. He played as a right winger. He spent 11 seasons playing in the National Hockey League (NHL), which is the top ice hockey league in North America. He played from 1993 to 2004.

Starting in the NHL
Michal Grošek was chosen by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. This was a big event where NHL teams pick young players. He was the 145th player picked overall. When he played for the Jets, he made history. He became the first player born in the Czech Republic to play for that club.
In total, Michal played in 526 games in the NHL. He scored 84 goals and made 137 assists. This gave him a total of 221 points.
His Best Season with the Sabres
Michal Grošek had his best season in 1998–99. He was playing for the Buffalo Sabres at that time. During this season, he set new personal records. He scored 20 goals and made 30 assists. This added up to 50 points. He also had 102 penalty minutes and took 140 shots on goal.
Moving to Other NHL Teams
In 2000, Michal asked to be traded to a different team. He was then traded to the Chicago Blackhawks. This trade involved other players like Doug Gilmour and J.P. Dumont. After playing for Chicago, Michal also played for the New York Rangers and the Boston Bruins. However, he never quite reached the same level of play he showed with the Buffalo Sabres in 1998-99. Michal later said he regretted asking for the trade. He felt he should have stayed with the Sabres.
Playing Hockey in Europe
After leaving the NHL, Michal Grošek moved to Switzerland. He played for a team called Genève-Servette HC in the National League A (NLA). He was the top goal scorer for his team, with 15 goals.
Later, he moved to Russia to play in the Russian Super League (RSL). He played for SKA Saint Petersburg. He scored 3 goals in 13 games there. After that, he returned to Genève-Servette HC. He scored 9 goals in 17 games during his second time with the team. In 2006, he joined EV Zug and played there for two seasons. Then, he moved to Sweden to play for Leksands IF in HockeyAllsvenskan.
Becoming a Coach
In September 2008, Michal Grošek decided to end his playing career. He was named the head coach of a Swiss lower league team called CP Meyrin. This marked the start of his coaching career.
