Michel Serrault (born January 24, 1928 – died July 29, 2007) was a famous French actor who performed on stage and in movies. He appeared in over 130 films from 1954 until his passing in 2007. He was known for his amazing ability to play many different kinds of characters.

Life and Acting Career
Michel Serrault started his acting journey in a play called Les Fourberies de Scapin by Molière. This was his first professional acting job, and he toured with it in Germany.
In 1948, he began working in theatre with a group called Les Branquignols. His very first movie was Ah! Les belles bacchantes in 1954. In this film, he acted alongside other well-known stars like Robert Dhéry and Louis de Funès. He also appeared in the exciting thriller Les diaboliques in 1955.
One of his most famous roles was Albin/Zaza in the play La cage aux folles. He played this character from 1973 to 1978. He then brought the character to the big screen in the film version of the play, which came out in 1978. This role made him very popular.
Michel Serrault passed away at his home in Équemauville on July 29, 2007, when he was 79 years old. He was first buried in Honfleur and later moved to the cemetery of Neuilly-sur-Seine. He rests there near his wife, Juanita Saint-Peyron, and his daughter, Caroline, who passed away in 1977. He also had another daughter, Nathalie Serrault, who is also an actress.
