Michelle Perry (born May 1, 1979) is an amazing American athlete. She is best known for her incredible speed in track and field, especially in the 100-meter hurdles race. Michelle has won several important medals, showing her talent and hard work in the sport.

Early Life and College
Michelle Perry grew up in Los Angeles, California. She went to Quartz Hill High School in Lancaster, California. During her high school years, she was already a very good athlete. In 1997, she finished second in the long jump at a big state competition called the CIF California State Meet.
After high school, Michelle went to college at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She joined the UCLA Bruins track and field team. In 2001, she was the runner-up in the heptathlon at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The heptathlon is a tough event where athletes compete in seven different track and field activities.

Michelle Perry has had a very successful career in athletics. She is famous for her gold medals in the 100-meter hurdles.
Olympic Games
In 2004, Michelle competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics. This is a huge international sports event. She took part in the heptathlon competition and finished 14th overall.
World Championships
Michelle Perry truly shined at the World Championships.
- 2005 World Championships: In 2005, she won her first gold medal in the 100 m hurdles at the World Championships in Helsinki. She finished the race in a fantastic time of 12.66 seconds. Her fastest personal record in this event is an even quicker 12.43 seconds.
- 2007 World Championships: Two years later, in 2007, Michelle went to the World Championships in Osaka, Japan. She successfully defended her title, winning another gold medal in the 100 m hurdles. Her winning time was 12.46 seconds. There was some discussion after this race because she ran very close to another athlete's lane. However, no official decision was made about it.
Later Career
After her big wins, Michelle continued to compete. She tried to make the team for the 2008 Beijing Olympics but did not qualify that year. She did make the team for the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. Unfortunately, she had a knee injury before the competition. Because of her injury, she was eliminated in the first round and could not defend her title. Michelle also missed the 2010 and 2011 seasons due to injuries and pregnancy.
