The Journey of Middlebush Brook
Middlebush Brook starts in a busy shopping area. From there, it flows through a marshy, wet area. It then crosses a road called Bennetts Lane. The brook continues its journey behind a cow farm.
After the farm, it crosses South Middlebush Road. A little further on, it crosses Blackwells Mills Road. Finally, Middlebush Brook flows into Six Mile Run.
The brook also has a few smaller branches. One branch flows for a while next to South Middlebush Road. Another branch goes towards a neighborhood near Amwell Road.
Other Streams Joining Middlebush Brook
Middlebush Brook has several smaller streams that flow into it. These are called unnamed tributaries because they don't have their own names.
One of these smaller streams flows very close to South Middlebush Road. It then splits into two even smaller streams. One of these ends near Amwell Road. The other acts like a drain for a neighborhood.
Can You Visit Middlebush Brook?
It can be tricky to reach Middlebush Brook in some places. Downstream, where it flows through wooded areas, it's not easy to get to.
However, upstream, where it goes through a neighborhood, it's much easier to access. You can also reach the brook, though with some effort, where it crosses Blackwells Mills Road.
What's the Bottom of the Brook Like?
The bottom of Middlebush Brook is mostly made of small boulders. This can make it hard to walk on if you're trying to explore. In some spots, you'll find smaller pebbles instead of boulders. The streambed is not muddy. This means it's not a great place for frogs to live.
