Midland is a small, unincorporated community in Klamath County, Oregon. It is located about 8 miles (13 km) south of Klamath Falls along U.S. Route 97. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city does.

About Midland, Oregon
This community was planned out in 1908. It got its name, Midland, when a post office opened there in 1909. People once thought the name meant it was halfway between Portland and San Francisco on a planned railway line. However, that wasn't quite true. It's now believed the name refers to the town being on land partly surrounded by marshy areas.
Midland's Past
When the "Cascade Line" railway reached Midland, the community became an important spot. It was a place where trains would stop, and where farmers could ship their cattle and other animals. In the past, Midland had two general stores, a hotel with a saloon, a place to keep horses (livery stable), a warehouse for grain, and a telephone office.
What's It Like Today?
Today, not much of the old town remains in Midland. However, Klamath County's visitor center is located there. This center helps tourists learn about the area.
