Mika Ninagawa (born October 18, 1972) is a famous Japanese photographer and director. She is well-known for her super colorful photos. Her work often features bright flowers, shiny goldfish, and beautiful landscapes. She also directs movies and music videos.

About Mika Ninagawa
Mika Ninagawa is the daughter of Yukio Ninagawa, a very famous theater director. She first became known in the late 1990s. This was during a time when many young Japanese photographers, especially girls, started taking pictures of everyday things. This movement was sometimes called 'Girly Photo'.
Her photos were first shown outside Japan in 1997. This happened at a cool store in Paris called Colette (boutique). In 2001, she won the 26th Kimura Ihei Award. This is one of Japan's most important awards for photography.
In 2014, Mika Ninagawa was chosen for an important role. She became a member of the committee planning the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

Directing Films and TV Shows
Mika Ninagawa started directing full-length movies in 2007 with Sakuran. She also directed the music video for the popular AKB48 song "Heavy Rotation" in 2010. In 2012, she directed Helter Skelter, a movie based on a manga comic. Her first web series, Followers, came out on Netflix in 2020.
Photography Movement of the 90s
Mika Ninagawa was a key figure in a photography movement in the 1990s. Other important photographers in this group included Hiromix and Yurie Nagashima. This movement was influenced by new cultural trends and the rise of easy-to-use cameras. It also connected with 'Purikura' (Print Club) culture, where Japanese teenagers, especially girls, created new visual styles.

Mika Ninagawa has worked on many different creative projects:
- She helped design the inside of the Bar & Cafè on the Bund in Shanghai, China.
- She was involved in designing the outside of a new Genbi Shinkansen train. This special art train started running in Japan in 2016.
