Michael Perkins (born 20 November 1969) is a British comic book artist. He is well-known for his detailed artwork and inking. Mike has worked on many popular comic books. These include Captain America, Ruse, and The Stand. He also worked on The Swamp Thing.

Mike Perkins' Art Journey
Mike Perkins started drawing when he was very young. He went to the Bournville College of Art in Birmingham, England. After college, he became a self-employed artist. He then began to look for work in the world of comics.
Early Creative Work
Besides comics, Mike also illustrated children's books. He created art for educational materials. His career also included designing computer games. He even drew album covers for music artists. But he is most famous for his comic book art.
Working with British Comics
Mike's first professional work was for British publishers. He drew for the comic 2000 AD. He also worked for Marvel UK. Other early clients included Ginn Publishing, Dorling Kindersley, and Oxford University Press.
Moving to American Comics
His work in Britain led him to the American comic market. He started working with DC Comics and Caliber Comics. For these companies, he drew comics like Kilroy is Here and Black Mist. He also worked on Negative Burn.
Mike often worked with writer Mike Carey. They created Carver Hale for 2000 AD. They also worked together on Spellbinders for Marvel Comics.
Joining CrossGen Comics
Mike's first job as an inker was for Phil Winslade. This led to more inking jobs at DC and Dark Horse Comics. Soon, he joined a new comic company called CrossGen.
At CrossGen, he mainly inked the series Ruse. He worked with famous creators like Mark Waid. He also drew and inked Archard's Agents. Mike also helped create Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. After CrossGen, he signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Comics. He worked there until May 2018.
Time at Marvel Comics
At Marvel, Mike worked on many well-known titles. These included Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, and X-Men. He also contributed to Annihilation: Conquest and House of M: Avengers.
One of his most notable projects was Captain America. He was part of the art team for Ed Brubaker's popular stories.
From 2008 to 2009, Mike illustrated The Stand: Captain Trips. This was Marvel Comics' version of Stephen King's famous novel The Stand. He worked again with colorist Laura Martin on this project.
Current Work at DC Comics
Since May 2018, Mike Perkins has been working for DC Comics. He illustrated the comic series Lois Lane: Enemy of the People. He also drew the 16-issue series The Swamp Thing. He worked on The Swamp Thing with writer Ram V from March 2021 to August 2022.
