Michael George Williams (born August 14, 1963) is a former American basketball player. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. Mike played as a power forward. He was 6 feet 8 inches tall and weighed 255 pounds.

Mike Williams' Early Life and High School

Mike Williams grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He went to De La Salle Institute for high school. While there, he was a star player for the school's basketball team, the Meteors. He helped his team win three Catholic League titles in a row. They also reached the "Elite Eight" of the state tournament twice. This means they were among the top eight teams in the state.

College Basketball Career

After high school, Mike Williams played college basketball. He first attended the University of Cincinnati from 1981 to 1983. Later, he transferred to Bradley University, where he played for two seasons, from 1984 to 1986.

At Bradley, Mike was a key player. He averaged 13.0 points per game. He also grabbed 6.8 rebounds per game. In 1986, he was recognized as a Second-team All-MVC player. This award shows he was one of the best players in his college conference.

Mike Williams' Professional Basketball Journey

In 1986, Mike Williams was chosen in the 1986 NBA draft. The Golden State Warriors picked him as the 51st player overall. This was in the third round of the draft.

Mike later played in the NBA during the 1989–1990 season. He played for two different teams that year. He was part of the Sacramento Kings and the Atlanta Hawks. During his time in the NBA, he averaged 0.7 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.
