Michael George Williams (born August 14, 1963) is a former American basketball player. He was known for playing as a power forward. He also played as a small forward.

Williams played for several teams during his career. These included teams in the NBA and the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He was part of the U.S. national team that won a silver medal. This happened at the 1995 Pan American Games.

Early Life and College Basketball

Mike Williams was born in Chicago, Illinois. He went to De La Salle Institute for high school. There, he was a star player for the Meteors basketball team.

He helped his team win three Catholic League titles in a row. They also reached the state tournament's Elite Eight twice. This means they were among the top eight teams in the state.

After high school, Williams played college basketball. He attended the University of Cincinnati from 1981 to 1983. Later, he transferred to Bradley University. He played for Bradley from 1984 to 1986.

At Bradley, he was a strong player. He averaged 13.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Points are how many scores he made. Rebounds are when he grabbed the ball after a missed shot.

Professional Basketball Career

Mike Williams was chosen in the 1986 NBA draft. The Golden State Warriors picked him as the 51st player overall. This was in the third round of the draft.

He played in the NBA during the 1989–1990 season. He played for two NBA teams that season. These teams were the Sacramento Kings and the Atlanta Hawks.

During his time in the NBA, he averaged 0.7 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.

CBA Championship Win

Williams also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). This was another professional basketball league. He played for the La Crosse Catbirds.

In 1990, Mike Williams and the La Crosse Catbirds won a championship. They became the CBA champions. This was a big achievement in his career.
