Mikhail Yurievich Yakubov was born on February 16, 1982. He is a former professional ice hockey player from Russia. He played as a center, which is a key position in hockey.

Mikhail was chosen by the Chicago Blackhawks as the 10th player overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. This means he was one of the top young players picked that year. He played for many teams during his career, including the Blackhawks and the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He also played for several teams in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). His last team was HC Sochi.

After he stopped playing, Mikhail became an assistant coach. He now helps coach the Chicago Cougars in the United States Premier Hockey League.
