Miles Thompson (born December 8, 1990) is a famous professional lacrosse player. He is a member of the Onondaga Nation and the Hawk Clan. The Onondaga are part of the Haudenosaunee (also known as the Iroquois Confederacy), a group of Native American nations.
Thompson is known for his amazing skill as an attack player. He currently plays for the Georgia Swarm in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and the Chaos Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL).
In college, he played for the University at Albany. He, his brother Lyle, and their cousin Ty Thompson formed an attack line called the "Thompson Trio." They were so good that they broke many records in NCAA Division I lacrosse. Many people think they were one of the best attack lines in college lacrosse history. In 2014, Miles and Lyle both won the Tewaaraton Trophy, the highest award in college lacrosse.

Early Life and Family
Miles Thompson grew up in the Onondaga Nation in New York. His mother, Doloris, is from the Onondaga Nation, and his father, Jerome, is from the Mohawk Nation. Lacrosse is a very important part of their culture.
He has four siblings, and his brothers Jeremy, Lyle, and Jerome Jr. (Hiana) are also talented lacrosse players. Miles played lacrosse at LaFayette High School, where he was a star player.
College Career
Miles went to the University at Albany, SUNY. He played on the lacrosse team with his brother Lyle and cousin Ty. As the "Thompson Trio," they were an unstoppable force on the field. In 2013 alone, they scored a combined 259 points.
In 2014, Miles and Lyle made history. They became the first Native American players to win the Tewaaraton Trophy. The name of the award, tewaaraton, is the Mohawk word for lacrosse, which shows the sport's deep roots in their culture.
Miles finished his college career with 293 points. He also set an NCAA record by scoring at least one goal in every single game he played.
Professional Career
After his amazing college career, Miles became a professional lacrosse player. He has played in several major leagues.
Major League Lacrosse (MLL)
In 2014, Miles was drafted by the Rochester Rattlers in the MLL draft. He was later traded to the Florida Launch. In 2015, his brother Lyle was drafted by the Launch, and the two brothers got to play on the same professional team.
National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Miles was drafted third overall in the 2014 NLL draft by the Minnesota Swarm. The team later moved and became the Georgia Swarm. His younger brother Lyle and older brother Jerome also joined the Swarm, bringing the Thompson brothers together again on the field.
Premier Lacrosse League (PLL)
In 2019, Thompson joined the newly formed Premier Lacrosse League. He was chosen to play for the Chaos Lacrosse Club in the league's first season.
International Games
Miles has represented the Iroquois men's national lacrosse team, known as the Iroquois Nationals. This team is unique because it is the only Native American team that can play in international competitions as its own nation.
- In the 2014 World Lacrosse Championship, he helped the Iroquois Nationals win the bronze medal. This was their best finish ever in the competition.
- In the 2015 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, he helped the team win the silver medal.
- In the 2018 World Lacrosse Championship, he once again led the team to a bronze medal finish.
