Early Life
Jeremy grew up in the Onondaga Nation, New York. He is one of five children. His mother, Doloris, is Onondaga. His father, Jerome Thompson, is Mohawk from Akwesasne.

They also won two Mid-State Conference championships and two Region III championships. In his two seasons, the OCC Lazers had a perfect record of 31–0.
After junior college, he attended Syracuse University. This was close to his hometown of Nedrow, New York. In his first season at Syracuse, he was named a USILA Second Team All-American.
