Miljan Mrdaković (Serbian Cyrillic: Миљан Мрдаковић; 6 May 1982 – 22 May 2020) was a professional Serbian football player. He was known as a striker, which means he played in an attacking position to score goals.

Miljan was a "journeyman" player, meaning he played for many different teams. He played for 20 clubs in ten different countries during his career! He scored a total of 150 goals in all the games he played. He also represented his country, Serbia, at the 2008 Olympic Games.

Playing for Clubs

Miljan Mrdaković was born in Niš, which was part of SFR Yugoslavia at the time. He started his youth career at local clubs like FK Radnički Niš and FK Partizan.

Early Career in Europe

When he was 16, Miljan moved to Belgium to join R.S.C. Anderlecht, a famous football club. He played for their youth and reserve teams. In early 2002, he went on loan to another Belgian team, S.C. Eendracht Aalst, to get more experience.

After that, Miljan returned to his home country and joined OFK Beograd. He was a top scorer for his team in the 2002–03 season, scoring 20 goals. In August 2003, he moved back to Belgium to play for K.A.A. Gent. He stayed there for a while before returning to OFK Beograd for another year and a half.

Playing in Different Countries

In 2005, Miljan signed with SV Austria Salzburg in Austria. Six months later, he moved to Ukraine to play for FC Metalist Kharkiv. In August 2006, he joined Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. in Israel, where he scored eight goals.

For the 2007–08 season, Miljan played in Portugal for Vitória de Guimarães. After that, he moved to China to play for Shandong Luneng Taishan F.C.. In July 2009, he signed a two-year deal with Apollon Limassol FC in Cyprus. He was later loaned to another Cypriot club, Ethnikos Achna FC.

Top Scorer in Cyprus

Miljan returned to Apollon Limassol FC for the 2010–11 season. This was a great year for him, as he scored 21 goals. This made him the top scorer in the entire league! In June 2011, he signed with AEK Larnaca FC, another team in Cyprus. He scored seven goals there before leaving in February 2012.

Later in 2012, Miljan went back to China to play for Jiangsu Sainty FC. Soon after, he returned to Cyprus and joined Enosis Neon Paralimni FC.

Later Career and Retirement

After playing for Veria FC in Greece for a few months, Miljan moved to Singapore in January 2014. He joined Tampines Rovers FC as a very important player for their team. He scored 25 goals and helped his team win two cup titles: the Charity Shield and the League Cup.

In February 2015, Miljan went back to Greece to play for Levadiakos FC. In June, he joined FK Vojvodina in Serbia. He scored two goals in the early games of the UEFA Europa League, helping his team move forward in the competition.

Miljan Mrdaković returned to OFK Beograd on 19 January 2017. He said he wanted to finish his football career at that club.

Playing for His Country

Miljan Mrdaković played for FR Yugoslavia's under-18 team in 2001. He also played for the national under-21 team.

In July 2008, Miljan was chosen to be part of the Serbian team for the 2008 Summer Olympics. He was one of the three older players allowed to join the under-23 team for the Olympics. He played in all three group stage matches and scored one goal against Ivory Coast.

In May 2011, Miljan was called up to the main Serbia squad for the first time. However, he got an injury during training and could not go on the team's tour.

His Passing

Miljan Mrdaković passed away in Belgrade, Serbia, on 22 May 2020. He was 38 years old.
