Milton Jeffery Barney Jr. is a talented American baseball coach. He also used to play baseball as an infielder. He was the main coach for the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils baseball team. Before becoming a coach, he played college baseball at two different universities. He played for Southern in 2007. Then, he played for Grambling State from 2008 to 2010.
Playing Career
Milton Barney Jr. grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi. He went to Gulfport High School there. In high school, he was a top athlete. He earned special awards for playing both baseball and football. After high school, Barney went to Southern University. He played in 20 games for the Jaguars baseball team. He got 12 hits and helped his team score 10 runs. Later, he moved to Grambling State. He finished his college baseball career playing for them.
Coaching Career
Barney started his coaching journey as an assistant coach. He worked for the Alcorn State Braves baseball team. As an assistant, he helped the team win a big title. They won the 2011 Southwestern Athletic Conference championship. This was a great start to his coaching path.
On August 11, 2022, Milton Barney Jr. became a head coach. He was chosen to lead the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils baseball team. As a head coach, he was in charge of the whole team.
