The Milton Keynes Museum is a really interesting place in Milton Keynes, England. It's a local museum that tells the story of the area. Most of the people who help run the museum are wonderful volunteers!

What You'll Discover at the Museum

The museum is set up inside an old farm from the Victorian era. It shows what life was like in the Milton Keynes area from the 1800s until today.

Life in the Countryside

One special part is the Stacey Hill Collection. This collection shows how people lived and worked in the countryside. You can see old farm tools, household items, and things from local industries. These items tell the story of the area before Milton Keynes was built in 1967.

Railway History

The museum also has lots of cool things from the nearby Wolverton railway works. This was a very important place where trains were built and repaired.

Amazing Telephones and More

You'll find a special collection called Connected Earth. It has many old telephones and switchboards. Many of these still work! Imagine using a phone from a long time ago.

The museum also has some old vehicles from the Post Office and British Telecom. The biggest and most fun is the Road Phone. It's a giant working telephone that was used for promotions.

A New Look and a Quick Comeback

The museum used to be called the Stacey Hill Museum.

In January 2025, the museum opened a brand new gallery. One of the coolest things there is an ichthyosaur fossil. This amazing sea creature was found right nearby at Caldecotte Lake!

A small electrical fire happened in February 2025, which meant the museum had to close for a short time. But don't worry, none of the museum's precious items were harmed. The museum quickly reopened in April 2025.
