The Mimmi series (Swedish: Mimmiserien) is a popular collection of children's books. They were written by Viveca Lärn, a Swedish author. The main character is a girl named Mimmi. The books follow her adventures as she grows up. She starts in late kindergarten and then goes into early primary school. Many of the stories are written like a diary, showing Mimmi's thoughts and feelings. The first book came out in 1979, and the last one was published in 1996.
Meet Mimmi and Her Family
Mimmi lives with her family in a town called Kungälv in Sweden. Her dad, Oskar, works as a postman. Her mom, Elin, is a waitress. She works at a restaurant called "Gyllene Svanen." The books tell stories from Mimmi's point of view. This means you get to read exactly what she is thinking and feeling.
From Books to TV Shows
The Mimmi books became so popular that they were turned into TV shows! Two different television series were made based on the stories. The first show was called En ettas dagbok. It came out in 1985. A few years later, in 1988, another TV series was released. This one was simply called Mimmi.
