Mindaugas Timinskas was born in Šilutė, a town in Lithuania. He grew up to become a well-known basketball player.
Playing Basketball in College
Mindaugas moved to the United States to play college basketball at Iona College. He played there from 1993 to 1997, competing in a top college league called NCAA Division I. In 1997, he was named the best player in his college conference, the MAAC.
Starting a Professional Career
After finishing college, Timinskas went back to Lithuania. He started his professional basketball career in the 1997–98 season. His first team was Šilutė, which was his hometown team. They played in the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL).
Playing in Europe's Top Leagues
Mindaugas Timinskas played for several teams across Europe. One of his most important times was with the Spanish team TAU Cerámica. He played a big role in the EuroLeague Finals in 2001.
- In those finals, he scored many points in several games.
- In one game, he scored 18 points, helping his team push the series to a fifth and final game.
- People still remember his amazing dunk in that game as one of the best plays in modern EuroLeague history.
He also played for Žalgiris in Lithuania and Pamesa Valencia in Spain.

After his playing career, Timinskas became a basketball coach. From 2012 to 2016, he was the head coach for the varsity basketball team at Cary Academy.
