This means it is a group of homes and buildings that are part of the larger county area. Mineral Center is located about five miles west of another community called Grand Portage.
Mineral Center sits right where two roads meet. These roads are Cook County Road 89 and Cook County Road 17. Cook County Road 17 is also known as Mineral Center Road. This small community is also located inside the Grand Portage Indian Reservation.
