History of Mingus
In the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, Mingus was known as a place where many shops and gathering spots were popular. People from nearby areas would visit these places. This time in Mingus's history was even mentioned in a funny country song called "Road to Mingus." The song was by John Clay and the Lost Austin Band.
The song tells a story about young men from a nearby town who visited Mingus. It talks about their journey home and a close call with a train. Over time, the number of these businesses in Mingus decreased.
