Minnewaska Township is a small area in Pope County, Minnesota, United States. In the year 2000, about 504 people lived there.
The township got its name from a nearby lake called Lake Minnewaska.

History of Minnewaska Township
Minnewaska Township was first mapped out in 1859. It officially became a township in 1884.
Geography and Water
According to the United States Census Bureau, Minnewaska Township covers a total area of 25.4 square miles (65.8 square kilometers).
A big part of this area is water! About 12.8 square miles (33.2 square kilometers) is land. The other 12.6 square miles (32.6 square kilometers) is water. This means almost half of the township is covered by water.
Population and People
In the year 2000, a census counted 504 people living in Minnewaska Township. These people lived in 202 different homes. Out of these, 160 were families.
The township had about 39 people per square mile (15 people per square kilometer) of land. Most of the people living there were White (99.01%). A small number were Asian (0.60%) or from two or more racial backgrounds (0.40%).
