Minnie's Yoo Hoo is a famous song from the early days of Mickey Mouse. It first appeared in 1929 in the cartoon Mickey's Follies. This fun song was created by Walt Disney himself and Carl Stalling. It was also the very first Disney song ever released as sheet music for people to play at home!

About Minnie's Yoo Hoo

This catchy tune is all about Mickey Mouse showing how much he likes his friend, Minnie. In the cartoon, Mickey sings the song, and other animal characters join in.

Who Sang the Song?

When Mickey's Follies first came out, an unknown person from the studio sang Mickey's part. Back then, Walt Disney had not yet become the only voice for Mickey Mouse. Later on, Walt Disney would become the well-known voice for Mickey.

Where Else Was It Used?

Minnie's Yoo Hoo became very popular! An instrumental version, meaning without words, was used as the opening theme song for many Mickey Mouse cartoons. This happened from The Jazz Fool in 1929 all the way to Mickey's Steam Roller in 1934.

The song was also the theme for the first Mickey Mouse Clubs. These clubs were shown in movie theaters during the 1930s. People also loved listening to the song on records.

Later, in 1972, Minnie's Yoo Hoo was played during the credits of Disney's TV show The Mouse Factory. It was even used as a theme song for the character Don Ramón in the Mexican TV show El Chavo del Ocho. Another character, Chómpiras, used it in a sketch from Los Caquitos.
