Minoru Suganuma's Football Journey

Minoru Suganuma started his football journey early. He joined the youth team of Kashiwa Reysol in 1998. He played there until 2002, learning the game.

Starting Professional Play

In 2002, Minoru joined the main team of Kashiwa Reysol. This team plays in the J1 League, Japan's top football league. He played his first professional game in October of that year. He often played as a forward, trying to score goals.

Loan Periods and Growth

In 2005, Minoru was loaned to a Brazilian club called Vitória. A "loan" means he played for them temporarily. In 2006, he was loaned again to Ehime FC. This team plays in the J2 League, which is the second-highest league in Japan. At Ehime FC, Minoru became a key player. He played as an offensive midfielder and scored 11 goals. This was a great achievement for him.

Returning to Kashiwa Reysol

Minoru returned to Kashiwa Reysol in 2007. He continued to play as a regular offensive midfielder. However, Kashiwa Reysol was moved down to the J2 League in 2009. This meant fewer chances for Minoru to play in 2010.

Moving to Júbilo Iwata

In July 2010, Minoru moved to another J1 League club, Júbilo Iwata. He often came into games as a substitute midfielder. He helped his team win the 2010 J.League Cup. This is a major football competition in Japan. By 2013, he did not play as much for Júbilo Iwata.

Later Career Clubs

In 2014, Minoru joined Sagan Tosu. He did not get many chances to play there either. He left the club at the end of 2015. After taking a break for half a year, he joined Roasso Kumamoto in August 2016. This team was in the J2 League. He played many games in 2016. However, in 2017, he played less often. Minoru Suganuma decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2017 season.
