Minoru Suganuma (菅沼 実, Suganuma Minoru, born May 16, 1985) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder.

Minoru Suganuma's Football Journey

Minoru Suganuma was born in Saitama, Japan, on May 16, 1985. He started his football journey in the youth team of J1 League club Kashiwa Reysol. He joined their main team in 2002.

Early Career and Loans

Minoru made his first professional appearance in October 2002. He played several matches as a forward in his early years. In 2005, he went on loan to a Brazilian club called Vitória. The next year, in 2006, he was loaned to J2 League club Ehime FC.

At Ehime FC, Minoru became a very important player. He played as an offensive midfielder and scored 11 goals. This helped him gain valuable experience and improve his skills.

Returning to Kashiwa Reysol

In 2007, Minoru Suganuma returned to Kashiwa Reysol. He continued to play as a regular offensive midfielder for the team. However, Kashiwa Reysol was moved down to the J2 League at the end of the 2009 season. This meant fewer chances for Minoru to play in 2010.

Moving to Júbilo Iwata

In July 2010, Minoru moved to another J1 League club, Júbilo Iwata. He played in many matches, often coming in as a substitute midfielder. With Júbilo Iwata, he achieved a big success by winning the 2010 J.League Cup. This was a major trophy for his team.

However, his playing time became very limited in 2013.

Later Career and Retirement

In 2014, Minoru joined Sagan Tosu. But he found it hard to get much playing time there too. He left the club at the end of the 2015 season. After taking a break for half a year, he joined J2 League club Roasso Kumamoto in August 2016.

He played in many matches during 2016. But in 2017, he again had very few opportunities to play. Minoru Suganuma decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2017 season. Throughout his career, he played a total of 215 games and scored 37 goals.
