Mistake Creek was once a small rural area in Queensland, Australia. It was located in the Isaac Region. In 2016, only 38 people lived there.
On May 17, 2019, the area of Mistake Creek was officially closed down. Its land was then added to the nearby areas of Clermont, Laglan, Frankfield, and Peak Vale.
History of Mistake Creek
The name of this area comes from a stream called Mistake Creek. This stream flows into the Belyando River. An early settler named Jerimiah Rolfe thought his farm was on the Belyando River. But he later found out it was on a different, smaller stream. Because of this mix-up, he named the stream Mistake Creek.
Mistake Creek State School opened its doors on January 24, 1983.
