The Mohai Agnes spring is a special natural water source found in Hungary. It's located in Moha village, which is in Fejér county, close to the Bakony hills. Moha village is in the middle of Fejér county, just north of Székesfehérvár. The Agnes spring is nestled in a long valley, about 2 to 4 kilometers long, between the Bakony and Vértes mountain ranges. This area is famous for having a lot of underground water and many hidden springs.

History of the Mohai Agnes Spring
The Mohai Agnes spring has a long history. The first written records about it date back to 1374. People living nearby used to call it "Aldokut," which means "Blessing well." Today, we know it as the Agnes spring.
Early Studies of the Water
Scientists first studied the water from the Mohai Agnes spring in 1810. This was the first known chemical test of its kind. Later, more studies were done in other European cities, like Leipzig in 1835 and Stuttgart in 1876. In 1880, the important Hungarian Academy of Sciences also supported learning more about this unique water.
What's Inside the Water?
Chemical tests show that Mohai Agnes water contains many important minerals. These include calcium carbonate, magnesium, sodium, potassium, lithium, iron oxide, calcium sulfate, silicic acid, and titanic acid. The presence of titanic acid is very special because it's extremely rare in natural waters. Only one other similar mineral water, found in Norway, has been noted to contain it.
This mineral water is naturally cool, about 11.2 degrees Celsius, and has natural carbon dioxide bubbles. People have known about its health benefits since the 14th century. It was thought to be good for breathing problems and digestion. The minerals in Mohai Agnes water are in a natural, ionic form, which makes it a high-quality drink.
Becoming Popular
Thanks to the hard work of people like Amade Tadde, the Bajzáth family, and Imre Kempelen, the spring was explored more deeply. They also started bottling the water. This helped the Mohai Agnes mineral water become very popular across Hungary and even well-known in other parts of Europe. The water was distributed more and more from the 19th century until World War I.
Recent Times
After the big political changes in Hungary around 1989, a company called Elore Mezogazdasagi Termelo es Szolgaltato Szovetkezet started bottling Mohai Agnes water. In 1999, Karsai Holding Plc. bought most of the company. Then, in August 2000, they launched a new company called Mohai Agnes Ltd. In 2005, the Mohai Agnes brand was sold to Uniresal Food Ltd. You could then find the mineral water on the shelves of CBA stores. After some big improvements and updates, the company unfortunately faced financial difficulties and stopped operating in 2008.
