Mohammad Nabi Habibi (Persian: محمدنبی حبیبی, born December 19, 1945 – died January 29, 2019) was an important Iranian politician. He was also a sociologist, someone who studies how people live together in groups. From 2004 until he passed away in 2019, he was the leader of the Islamic Coalition Party. Before that, he served as the Mayor of Tehran, the capital city of Iran, for about four years, from 1983 to 1987.

Mohammad Nabi Habibi was involved in groups that disagreed with the government during the time of the Shah of Iran, before the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Because of his political activities, he was even put in jail.
