Mohd Faiz bin Subri, born on November 8, 1987, is a Malaysian football player. He plays as an attacking midfielder or forward for the Penang team in the Malaysia Super League. Faiz is famous for scoring an amazing free-kick goal that won him the FIFA Puskás Award in 2016.

Early Life and Education
Faiz grew up in Ayer Hitam, Kedah, Malaysia. He is one of five children in his family. He went to primary and secondary schools in Kedah. Later, he moved to Sekolah Menengah Teknik Arau in Perlis to continue his studies.
Football Journey
Faiz started his football journey with the Kedah youth team in 2006. He then joined Tambun Tulang in 2009, where he played 14 games and scored 6 goals.
Early Club Career
- Perlis: In 2010, Faiz joined Perlis, a team in the Malaysia Super League. He played for two seasons with them.
- T-Team: After Perlis, he signed a one-year contract with T–Team in 2012.
Moving to New Teams
- Kelantan: In 2013, Faiz joined Kelantan FA. He scored a goal in an AFC Cup match against a Vietnamese team, SHB Đà Nẵng. He played 28 games and scored 5 goals for Kelantan.
- Terengganu: In 2014, he moved to Terengganu FA for one season. He played 14 games and scored 1 goal there.
Time with Penang
Faiz joined Penang FA in 2015. He helped the team finish second in the 2015 Malaysia Premier League. This success meant Penang was promoted to the 2016 Malaysia Super League.
Later Career Moves
- Kuala Kangsar: In March 2021, Faiz played for Kuala Kangsar FC.
- Return to Penang: In 2022, he came back to play for Penang for a second time.
Playing Style
Faiz is a skilled attacking midfielder. He can also play as a winger or a striker. He is known for his speed, accurate long-range shots, and great passes to his teammates. Faiz is especially famous for scoring amazing free kick goals.
The Famous Puskás Award Goal
On February 16, 2016, Faiz scored an incredible free-kick goal during a game against Pahang FA. The game was played at the City Stadium in George Town. Videos of his goal quickly became very popular online.
Later that year, the Football Association of Malaysia nominated his goal for the FIFA Puskás Award. In 2017, Faiz won the award for the best goal of the year. He was the first person from Asia to ever win this international award!
