Mohd Faiz bin Subri (born November 8, 1987) is a Malaysian football player. He is famous for scoring an amazing free-kick goal. This goal won him the 2016 FIFA Puskás Award. The Puskás Award is given to the player who scores the "most beautiful goal" of the year! Faiz plays as an attacking midfielder or forward for Malaysia Super League team Penang.

Early Life and Education
Faiz was born and grew up in Ayer Hitam, Kedah, Malaysia. He is the third of five children in his family. He went to primary school at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tengku Laksamana. For secondary school, he attended Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Permatang Bonglai. Later, he moved to Sekolah Menengah Teknik Arau in Perlis to continue his studies.
Football Club Journey
Starting in Kedah
Faiz began his football journey with the Kedah youth team in 2006. This was the start of his professional career.
Playing for Tambun Tulang and Perlis
In 2009, Faiz joined FAM League club Tambun Tulang. He played 14 games and scored 6 goals for them. After one season, Faiz moved to Malaysia Super League team Perlis in 2010. He played for Perlis for two seasons.
Time with T–Team, Kelantan, and Terengganu
Faiz then signed a one-year contract with T–Team in 2012. The next year, 2013, he joined Kelantan FA. While at Kelantan, he scored a goal in the AFC Cup against a Vietnamese club, SHB Đà Nẵng. He played 28 games and scored 5 goals for Kelantan. In 2014, Faiz signed a one-year contract with Terengganu FA. He played 14 games and scored 1 goal for them.
Success with Penang
After his time with Terengganu, Faiz joined Penang FA. He helped Penang finish second in the 2015 Malaysia Premier League. This great performance meant the team was promoted to the 2016 Malaysia Super League.
Later Clubs and Return to Penang
In March 2021, Faiz played for Kuala Kangsar FC. In 2022, he returned to play for Penang for a second time.
Playing for Malaysia
Faiz was called to play for the Malaysian national team in 2012 and 2013. However, he did not play in any matches during those call-ups. After playing very well for Penang in 2015, he was called back to the national team in August 2015.
How Faiz Plays Football
Faiz is a very good attacking midfielder. He can also play as a winger (on the side of the field) or as a striker (closer to the opponent's goal). He is known for his speed and his accurate long-range shots. Faiz is also famous for scoring amazing free kick goals.
Winning the FIFA Puskás Award in 2016
On February 16, 2016, Faiz scored an incredible free kick goal. This happened during a match where his team, Penang, won 4–1 against Pahang FA. The game was played at the City Stadium in George Town.
Videos of his amazing free kick quickly became very popular online. Because of this, the Football Association of Malaysia nominated him for the FIFA Puskás Award that year. In 2017, Faiz won the FIFA Puskás Award for his free-kick goal! He was the first person from Asia to win this international award for the best goal of the year.
