Mojgan Shajarian (born May 17, 1970) is a talented artist from Iran. She is known for her skills as a painter, graphic designer, singer, and setar player. The setar is a traditional Persian string instrument. Mojgan is also the daughter of the famous musician Mohammad-Reza Shajarian and the sister of singer Homayoun Shajarian.

Mojgan's Early Life and Learning

Mojgan Shajarian was born in Tehran, Iran, on May 17, 1970. She studied art and music at university. She earned a bachelor's degree in painting and a master's degree in graphic communication from Islamic Azad University. She also has a bachelor's degree in music from the University of the Arts.

Mojgan is married to Mohammad Ali Rafiei. He used to manage concerts for her father and brother. They have a daughter named Mehr Rafiei and twin sons named Sam and Sepehr.

Mojgan Shajarian released her first solo music album in April 2019. It was called Arghavan. The music for this album was created by Sorena Sefati. The songs on Arghavan use poems from famous poets like Hushang Ebtehaj, Mohammad-Reza Shafiei Kadkani, and Hafez.

Mojgan explained that the name Arghavan tells a story. It represents the struggles of people in her homeland. It also speaks to those who had to leave their homes but still feel connected to their roots. She shared on social media that due to certain rules in Iran, her album could not be officially sold there. Because of this, she made Arghavan available for free online for anyone in Iran who wanted to listen.
