Molina is a city in Chile. It is also a "commune," which is a type of local government area. Molina is located in the Curicó Province, which is part of the Maule Region. The city was named after a famous Chilean Jesuit, Juan Ignacio Molina.

Molina covers a large area of about 1,551.6 square kilometers. In 2002, a count of the people living there, called a census, showed that Molina had 38,521 residents.

How Many People Live in Molina's City and Countryside?

Most of Molina's population, about 28,232 people (73.3%), lived in the city areas. The remaining 10,289 people (26.7%) lived in the countryside, which are called rural areas. Between 1992 and 2002, the number of people living in Molina grew by 8%.
