Molina is a city in Chile. It is also a "commune," which is a type of local government area. Molina is located in the Curicó Province, which is part of the Maule Region. The city was named after a famous Chilean Jesuit, Juan Ignacio Molina.

Molina covers a large area of about 1,551.6 square kilometers. In 2002, a count of the people living there, called a census, showed that Molina had 38,521 residents.
How Many People Live in Molina's City and Countryside?
Most of Molina's population, about 28,232 people (73.3%), lived in the city areas. The remaining 10,289 people (26.7%) lived in the countryside, which are called rural areas. Between 1992 and 2002, the number of people living in Molina grew by 8%.

The 2002 census also showed that there were slightly more men than women in Molina. There were 19,392 men and 19,129 women living in the commune at that time.

The alcalde for Molina from 2008 to 2012 was Mirtha Segura Ovalle. The current alcalde is Priscilla Castillo Gerli.
