Molina is a Chilean city and commune located in the Curicó Province of the Maule Region. The city of Molina gets its name from a famous Chilean Jesuit, Juan Ignacio Molina.

Molina is home to many people! According to the 2012 census, about 40,329 people live in Molina. Most of these people, about 28,232, live in the city areas. The remaining 10,289 people live in the countryside, or rural areas. This shows that Molina has grown over the years.
How Molina is Governed
Molina is a commune, which is like a local government area in Chile. It is managed by a municipal council. The head of this council is called an alcalde (mayor). The mayor is chosen by the people of Molina in an election every four years. Currently, the mayor of Molina is Felipe Méndez. The local government helps make decisions for the city.

Molina has been the home of some talented people!
- Laureano Ladrón de Guevara (1889–1968) was a famous painter. He also created prints and murals.
- Francisca Benítez (born 1974) is a visual artist and an activist.
