Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream is a popular ice cream parlor with many shops in the Seattle metropolitan area in Washington, USA. Molly Moon Neitzel started the business in 2008.
What makes their ice cream special? It's made right in each shop! This means the ice cream doesn't melt and refreeze while being delivered. This helps keep it super creamy and delicious for everyone to enjoy.
The Story of Molly Moon's
Molly Moon Neitzel opened her very first ice cream shop in Wallingford in 2008. People loved it, and soon more shops started opening!
Growing Across the City
In May 2011, a new shop opened in the Madrona neighborhood. Just a month later, in June, a fifth location opened in downtown Seattle. Then, in September 2011, the Queen Anne shop welcomed its first customers. On that special opening day, they even gave away free ice cream scoops to children!
In 2014, Molly Moon's helped create small parks outside their Wallingford and Madrona shops. These "parklets" were part of a special city program to add more green spaces.
More Shops and Celebrations
The company kept growing! A seventh shop opened in Redmond in 2016. An eighth location arrived in Columbia City in 2017. Just like before, free scoops were offered to kids on opening day in Columbia City.
In 2018, Molly Moon's celebrated its tenth birthday! To mark this big milestone, all their shops gave free scoops to the first 100 customers.
More recently, in 2023, Molly Moon's opened its ninth shop in downtown Edmonds. They also shared plans to open a new spot near the Colman Dock along the Seattle Waterfront.
