About Para-Nordic Skiing
Ganbold Batmunkh is a skilled para-Nordic skier. This sport involves different types of skiing for athletes with disabilities. Batmunkh competes in cross-country skiing, where athletes race across long distances on snow.
Batmunkh had competed in the Paralympics before. He was part of the 2014 Winter Paralympics. His best result there was finishing fourteenth in the 20km Classic Style - Standing race. He completed that race in 1 hour, 11 minutes, and 8.3 seconds.
He also showed great skill at the World Championships in 2017. There, he achieved his best finish, coming in ninth place in the 20km - Standing event. His time for that race was 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 15.4 seconds.
To qualify for the 2018 Paralympics, Batmunkh needed to earn enough points. In September 2017, he went to a World Cup event in Germany. He had already collected 130 World Cup points. Five of these points were earned during the 2017/2018 season. These points were very important because they allowed him to go to the Paralympics.
Ganbold Batmunkh is coached by J. Dondo (whose name in Mongolian is Ж.Дондогийн).
