Monica Geingos (born Monica Kalondo on 15 November 1976) is a Namibian lawyer and businesswoman. She was the 3rd First Lady of Namibia from 2015 until her husband, President Hage Geingob, passed away in 2024.
As First Lady, she worked on many important projects. She also helped lead many big companies in Namibia. She was the head of a group that advised the President on money and business. Monica Geingos also led the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development. This group helps improve lives across Africa. Today, she is the Chancellor of Kepler College in Kigali, Rwanda.

Monica Geingos's Career Journey
Monica Geingos studied law and earned special degrees in the field. She became an expert in how companies are run and how to invest money. She worked in the financial world for many years.
In 2012, people voted her one of Namibia's 12 most influential people. Later, in 2020, she was named one of the 100 most influential African women. She studied at the University of Namibia. Early in her career, she worked at the Namibia Stock Exchange in Windhoek. She also led the board of eBank Namibia. She was the managing director of Stimulus, a financial company, and a general director of Point Break.
Her Personal Life
Monica Kalondo married Hage Geingob on 14 February 2015. He was about to become the President of Namibia. She became the First Lady on 21 March 2015. She held this role until 4 February 2024, when President Geingob passed away.
At his funeral, Monica Geingos spoke about her husband's life. She said he was born into a simple family but became a president. She explained how he achieved amazing things and helped many people.
Awards and Recognition
Monica Geingos received the World Without AIDS Award. This award came from the German AIDS Foundation. It recognized her efforts in the fight against AIDS.
Lasting Impact and Legacy
Monica Geingos has had a lasting impact in Namibia. A school in Otjiwarongo is named after her. It is called Monica Geingos Junior Secondary School. Also, a street in Mondesa, Swakopmund, is named Monica Geingos Street. These names honor her contributions to the country.
