Monica Geingos (born Monica Kalondo on 15 November 1976) is a successful Namibian businesswoman and lawyer. She served as the third First Lady of Namibia from 2015 until her husband passed away in 2024. She has been an important leader in many large companies in Namibia. She also led the Presidential Economic Advisory Council, which helps the president with economic decisions. Monica Geingos was also the President of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development, an organization that works to improve lives across Africa. Today, she is the Chancellor of Kepler College in Kigali, Rwanda.

Monica Geingos's Career and Achievements
Monica Geingos has degrees in law (B.Juris and LLB). She spent many years working in the financial world. She was an expert in private equity, which means investing in companies that are not listed on a stock exchange. She also specialized in governance, which is about how companies are managed fairly and responsibly.
In 2012, she was recognized as one of Namibia's 12 most influential people. Later, in 2020, she was named one of the 100 most influential African women. Monica Geingos studied at the University of Namibia. Early in her career, she worked for the Namibia Stock Exchange (NSX) in Windhoek. She also led the board of eBank Namibia. She was the managing director of a financial company called Stimulus and a general director of Point Break.
Personal Life and Family
Monica Geingos married Hage Geingob, who was about to become the President of Namibia, on 14 February 2015. This was just before he officially became president. She served as the First Lady from 21 March 2015 until 4 February 2024, when President Hage Geingob passed away. During his funeral, she shared a touching message. She said that he was born a peasant but died a president. This showed how much he achieved despite his humble beginnings. President Geingob made a big difference in many people's lives.
Awards and Recognition
Mrs. Geingos has received special honors for her work. The German AIDS Foundation gave her the World Without AIDS Award. This award recognized her efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Lasting Legacy
Monica Geingos's contributions are remembered in Namibia. A school in Otjiwarongo is named after her: Monica Geingos Junior Secondary School. Also, a street in Mondesa, Swakopmund, is called Monica Geingos Street. These names honor her impact and achievements in the country.
