Monitor is a small community called a hamlet in the eastern part of Alberta, Canada. It is located within Special Area No. 4. You can find Monitor on Highway 41. It is about 215 kilometres (134 mi) (134 miles) north of the city of Medicine Hat.
Monitor's Past
Monitor used to be a small town with its own local government. But on January 1, 1946, it changed. Monitor stopped being a village and became part of a larger area called Improvement District No. 331. This means it is now managed by the Special Areas Board.
People of Monitor
In 1991, Statistics Canada counted the number of people living in Monitor. The official count from the 1991 Census of Population showed that 60 people lived there.
