History of the Race
Early Races at Mont-Tremblant
The Mont-Tremblant track is in a countryside area. It is located north of Montreal. Before the Champ Car Grand Prix, other big races happened here. These included USAC IndyCar races in 1967 and 1968. The track also hosted the Sports Car Club of America's Formula 5000 races. These took place in 1969 and 1970.
Formula One at the Circuit
The Circuit Mont-Tremblant was even home to Formula One races. The Canadian Grand Prix was held there twice. These famous races happened in 1968 and 1970. This shows that the track was important for many types of car racing.

The Only Champ Car Event
The only Mont-Tremblant Champ Car Grand Prix was held on July 1, 2007. It was the sixth race of the 2007 Champ Car World Series Season. This event was very special. It replaced the Grand Prix of Montreal on the Champ Car schedule.

On March 5, 2008, it was confirmed that the Mont-Tremblant Grand Prix was cancelled. It did not happen again after 2007.
