Montcada i Reixac, often called just Montcada, is a town in Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the Vallès Occidental area. This town sits where the Ripoll river and the Besós river meet. It is also very close to the northern parts of Barcelona. Because of this, Montcada i Reixac is part of the larger metropolitan area of Barcelona. In 2010, about 33,656 people lived here.

Roads and Highways
The town is served by the A-7 autopista. This is a big highway that helps people travel quickly. The N-152 road also passes through the town.
Train and Metro
You can find six Renfe train stations in Montcada. These stations are part of the Rodalies Barcelona network. They connect Montcada to other towns and cities. The Barcelona Metro line 11 also has its last stop here. This stop is at Can Cuiàs.
Walking Trails
The GR 92 is a long walking path. It follows the Mediterranean coast of Spain. Montcada i Reixac is a stopping point on this path. From here, you can walk north to Coll de la Font de Cera. You can also walk south to Baixador de Vallvidrera station.
