Monte Jayuya is a tall mountain in Puerto Rico. It is the second highest peak on the island. The mountain stands about 1,296 meters (4,252 feet) above sea level.
Monte Jayuya is part of the Cordillera Central mountain range. This range runs through the middle of Puerto Rico. The mountain is located right on the border between two towns: Jayuya and Ponce.
Where is Monte Jayuya?
The mountain's peak is actually located within the area of Ponce. Specifically, it's in a part of Ponce called Barrio Anón. On the Jayuya side, it's in Barrio Saliente. A large part of Monte Jayuya is inside the Toro Negro State Forest. This forest is a protected area known for its beautiful nature.
