Monte Llano is a small area, called a barrio, located in the town of Cidra, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 984 people lived there. It's a quiet place in the heart of Puerto Rico.
A Look Back: History of Monte Llano
Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States after the Spanish–American War. This happened because of a peace agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. In 1899, the United States government counted the people living in Puerto Rico. This count, called a census, found that Monte Llano and a nearby barrio named Bayamón had a combined population of 1,222 people.
