Montenotte is on a hill. It looks out over the River Lee to the south. It is also very close to the St Luke's area.
Long ago, Montenotte had many large, grand houses. Some of these big homes were later changed. They became places like schools, offices, or hotels.
The part of Montenotte that faces the river has many old, tall trees. During the 1900s, some of the land was sold. New houses were built there. These modern homes are spread out among the trees. They have great views of the River Lee.
