Monterrey is a cool little town in Peru. It's found in the Ancash area, specifically in the Huaraz part. This town is about 7 km (4.3 mi) north of the main city of Huaraz.
Monterrey sits in a beautiful valley called the Santa River valley. This area is also known as Callejon de Huaylas. It's quite high up, at 2,981 meters (about 9,780 feet) above sea level!
