The Montreal Science Centre is a super cool science museum located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It's right by the water in the Old Port of Montreal, on a spot called King Edward Pier. This museum opened its doors on May 1, 2000.
When it first started, it was known as the iSci Centre. But in 2002, it got a new name: the Montreal Science Centre! It's managed by the Old Port of Montreal Corporation, which is part of the Canadian government.

How Did the Science Centre Start?
The area where the Science Centre stands today has a long history. It used to be a busy dock for cargo ships!
From Cargo Ships to Cool Exhibits
The King Edward Pier was built between 1901 and 1903. It was a very important spot for ships bringing goods to Montreal. But in the 1970s, port activities started to move to a new, bigger area called the Port of Montreal.
By the 1990s, the Old Port area, including King Edward Pier, was redeveloped. This meant it was transformed from a shipping hub into a fun place for people to visit. That's when the idea for a science museum came to life, giving the pier a new and exciting purpose!
