Montresta is a small town, or comune, located on the beautiful island of Sardinia in Italy. It is part of the Province of Oristano.

This charming town is about 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of Cagliari, which is the capital city of Sardinia. It's also about 50 kilometers (31 miles) north of Oristano, another important city in the province. In 2004, about 594 people lived in Montresta, and the town covered an area of 23.8 square kilometers (9.2 square miles).

Montresta has an interesting history! In 1746, about 50 Greek families moved here. They came from a place called Mani in Greece, but they had been living in Cargèse on the island of Corsica. They were given land by King Carlo Emanuele III to start their new home in the area of Montresta.

Montresta shares its borders with a few other towns. These include Bosa, Villanova Monteleone, and Padria.

Population Changes Over Time

This section shows how the number of people living in Montresta has changed over many years. It's called "demographic evolution," which just means how the population grows or shrinks.
