Moscow is a small place in Indiana, United States, that is called an unincorporated community. This means it's not an official city or town with its own local government. It's located within Orange Township in Rush County.
History of Moscow
Moscow was first set up in 1832. It's believed that the community got its name from the famous city of Moscow in Russia.
A post office was opened in Moscow in 1827. This office helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1907.
On June 3, 2008, a very strong tornado hit the town. This tornado was an EF3, which means it caused a lot of damage. Sadly, it destroyed the well-known Moscow Covered Bridge. This old bridge was built in the 1800s and crossed the Big Flatrock river.
