Mount Jumper (78°14′S 85°36′W / 78.233°S 85.600°W / -78.233; -85.600) is a tall mountain in Antarctica. It stands about 2,890 metres (9,480 ft) high. You can find it in the middle of the Sentinel Range, which is part of the Ellsworth Mountains. Mount Jumper is located about 7 nautical miles (13 km) east of another mountain called Mount Viets.

This mountain was first mapped by the United States Geological Survey using surveys and photos taken from planes by the United States Navy between 1957 and 1959. It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names to honor Major Jesse T. Jumper. He was part of the United States Air Force and helped set up the South Pole Station during the 1956–57 season.

Exploring Mount Jumper's Location

Mount Jumper is a key part of the central Sentinel Range. A place called Debren Pass separates it from a nearby ridge that goes down towards Evans Peak.

Glaciers Around Mount Jumper

Mount Jumper offers amazing views of several glaciers. To its north and east, you can see the Ellen Glacier. Two other glaciers, Patton Glacier and Rumyana Glacier, flow into the Ellen Glacier from the south and northwest. Glaciers are like very slow-moving rivers of ice.
