Mountain Gate is a neighborhood and group of homes located in Clarkdale, Arizona. It is a planned community where houses are built together.

Building Mountain Gate: A Brief History

Mountain Gate was first started in 2005 by a company called Empire Builders of California. They began building homes in the area.

However, in 2008, a big economic slowdown called the Great Recession happened. Because of this, Empire Builders went out of business. They had to stop building homes in Mountain Gate.

Later, in 2011, another company named B&C Land Group of California bought the property. They started building new homes in September 2014. The first homes built by Empire Builders were often larger, around 2,000 square feet or more. The new homes being built by B&C Land Group are generally smaller. They are built on lots that are about 0.14 acres in size.

By the summer of 2015, a company called New Gate Homes was planning to finish building seven different model homes. These models showed what the new houses would look like.

Old Town Cottonwood is just about 3 miles from the Mountain Gate homes.

Mountain Gate is also close to the historic town of Jerome, which is about 5 miles away. Jerome is known for its mining history and unique hillside location.
