Terrance Cocheeks Kelly (born March 28, 1971), better known by his stage name Mr. Cheeks, is an American rapper from Queens, New York. He is famous for his 2001 hit song "Lights, Camera, Action!". This popular track featured other famous artists like Missy Elliott, P. Diddy, and Petey Pablo. It reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, a list of the most popular songs in the U.S.
Before his solo success, Mr. Cheeks was a member of the hip hop group Lost Boyz from 1995 to 1999. After the group, he signed with Universal Records to start his own career as a solo artist. His first album was called John P. Kelly, and it included his big hit. He later released another album called Back Again! in 2003. Mr. Cheeks also appeared as a guest on Lil' Kim's 2003 single "The Jump Off," which was another big hit.

Music Career
1991–2019: The Lost Boyz
Mr. Cheeks learned a lot about music from his uncle, the famous musician Gil Scott-Heron. He formed the group Lost Boyz with his friends Freaky Tah, Spigg Nice, and Pretty Lou. The group was known for its smart and real style of New York hip-hop.
The Lost Boyz released several popular songs, including "Lifestyles of the Rich and Shameless" (1994), "Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz & Benz" (1995), and "Renee" (1996). Their albums were praised by critics all over the world. Their albums include Legal ... Money (1996), Love, Peace & Nappiness (1997), and LB IV Life (1999). The group later released more music, including LB Next Generation in 2019 and Legacy in 2020.
2001–2009: Going Solo
In 2001, Mr. Cheeks started his career as a solo artist. His first album, John P. Kelly, was named after his cousin and grandfather. This album had the hit song "Lights, Camera, Action!".
The album also featured a special song called "Till We Meet Again." It was a collaboration with his friend Stephen Marley, who is the son of reggae legend Bob Marley. The song was recorded to remember his friend and bandmate Freaky Tah. In 2003, Mr. Cheeks released his next album, Back Again!. After this album, he left Universal Records to start his own music label called Diane's Boyz.
