Mū Kanazaki (金崎 夢生, born 16 February 1989) is a Japanese professional footballer. He plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for the Japanese club Verspah Oita. He is well-known for scoring two important goals that helped Kashima Antlers win the 2016 J1 League final against Urawa Red Diamonds.

Mū Kanazaki's Club Journey

Mū Kanazaki started his professional football career in Japan. He played for several different clubs, showing his skills as a midfielder and winger.

Early Career in Japan

Kanazaki began his journey with Oita Trinita in 2007. He quickly became an important player for the team. During his time there, Oita Trinita won the 2008 J.League Cup. This was an early highlight in his career.

After Oita Trinita, he moved to Nagoya Grampus in 2010. With Nagoya Grampus, he helped the team win the 2010 J1 League title. This was a big achievement for him and the club. He also played in the AFC Champions League, which is a major competition for Asian clubs.

Playing in Europe

In 2013, Kanazaki decided to try playing football in Europe. He joined 1. FC Nürnberg in Germany. After his time in Germany, he moved to Portugal to play for Portimonense. Playing in different countries helped him gain new experiences and improve his game.

Return to Japan and Major Success

Kanazaki returned to Japan in 2015, joining Kashima Antlers on loan. This move was very successful. He helped Kashima Antlers win the 2015 J.League Cup.

In 2016, he permanently joined Kashima Antlers. This was a fantastic year for him and the club. He scored the two winning goals in the 2016 J1 League final, securing the championship for Kashima Antlers. He also helped them win the 2016 Emperor's Cup that year. In 2018, he was part of the team that won the 2018 AFC Champions League, a huge title in Asian club football.

Later Career and Current Club

After his successful time at Kashima Antlers, Kanazaki played for Sagan Tosu. He later returned to Nagoya Grampus on loan in 2020, and then signed with them permanently in 2021.

In 2022, he rejoined his first club, Oita Trinita. In 2023, he moved to FC Ryukyu. As of 2024, Mū Kanazaki plays for Verspah Oita. He continues to be an active player in Japanese football.

Mū Kanazaki's International Appearances

Mū Kanazaki has also represented his country, Japan, in international football.

He made his first appearance for the Japan national team in 2009. This was during a qualification match for the 2011 AFC Asian Cup. He has played in several matches for Japan, showing his talent on the international stage. He scored two goals for his country during his international career.
