Muiderberg is a charming village in the Netherlands. It is part of the Gooise Meren municipality. This village is located about 6 kilometers north of Bussum. It is also about 2 kilometers west of Naarden. Muiderberg sits right next to the beautiful Naarderbos forest.

Where is Muiderberg Located?

Muiderberg is found in the eastern part of the Gooise Meren municipality. This area is in the southeast of the North Holland province. The village is located in the western part of the Netherlands.

It is right on the edge of the IJmeer lake to the north. To the east, you'll find the Naarderbos forest. As mentioned, it's about 6 kilometers north of Bussum. It is also about 2 kilometers west of Naarden.

The Jewish Cemetery

Muiderberg is home to the largest Jewish cemetery in the Netherlands. This important cemetery was started in 1642 by German Jews. Later, in 1660, it joined with a nearby cemetery. That one was founded by Polish Jewish people.

The main reception building at the cemetery was built in 1933. It was designed by a famous architect named Harry Elte.
