Mukhtar Abdullah Ali (Arabic: مختار عبد الله علي) is a professional footballer from Saudi Arabia. He was born on October 30, 1997. Mukhtar plays as a midfielder. He currently plays for the Al-Ettifaq team. He also represents the Saudi Arabia national team.

Mukhtar Ali's Football Journey
Mukhtar Ali has played for several football clubs. He started his journey in England. Later, he moved to the Netherlands. Now, he plays in Saudi Arabia.
Early Club Career
Mukhtar began playing football at a young age. He joined Leyton Orient first. In 2008, when he was 11 years old, he moved to Chelsea. He grew up playing in Chelsea's youth academy.
Success at Chelsea's Youth Academy
While at Chelsea, Mukhtar was part of a very successful youth team. They won the FA Youth Cup two times in a row. This happened in 2015 and 2016. He played in many games for the academy. He was a key player for them.
Playing in the Netherlands
In January 2017, Mukhtar went to the Netherlands. He joined a team called Vitesse on a loan. A loan means he played for them for a short time.
Debut with Vitesse
Mukhtar made his first appearance for Vitesse in February 2017. He also played for their reserve team, Jong Vitesse. After his loan, Vitesse signed him permanently. He stayed with them for three years until 2019.
Moving to Saudi Arabia
In August 2019, Mukhtar returned to Saudi Arabia. He signed a one-year deal with Al-Nassr. This is a big football club in Saudi Arabia.
Loan Spells from Al-Nassr
While at Al-Nassr, Mukhtar also played for other teams on loan. In January 2022, he was loaned to Al-Tai. He rejoined Al-Tai on another loan in August 2022. In September 2023, he was loaned to Al-Fateh.
Joining Al-Ettifaq
In January 2025, Mukhtar Ali made a new move. He joined Al-Ettifaq. He signed a contract to play for them for four and a half years.
International Football
Mukhtar Ali has played for national teams. He first played for England's youth teams. He was eligible to play for Somalia too, where his parents are from.
Representing Saudi Arabia
However, Mukhtar chose to play for the Saudi Arabia national team. He said he was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He made his first game for the senior Saudi Arabia team in October 2017. This was in a match against Jamaica.
